We listened/talked to researchers/ experts from big-name universities that everyone oohs and ahhs about and found that their research showed that learning is best when it is blah blah. You can barely read the information – no worry, it is data visualization if your idea of data visualization is 2000 or Excel 1996. Pie charts?

Why ask for advice on LinkedIn for your learning system/tech; if the respondents are not experts?

Ditto on others – from “experts” to heads of L&D, Training, and other divisions. Here, on the subreddit around the creme issue, were legit experts. I trusted their judgments simply because there was proof that each respondent knew about the whole Oreo experience and was an expert on the cookies.

If even you are using a 3rd party authoring tool, or an expert in ID or e-learning development, if you see “upload content” I am very confident this means you can upload any type of content. They were the experts. The last time I looked, the vendor is supposed to be the expert not the client. Do you think they care?

When did employees and customers for learning/training become irrelevant?

You are the expert here.  Trained by one entity at your company, with the experts to do it. You need have the experts (in learning and training) here – the person overseeing L&D or Training (internal) or both if they are at the same company. HRIS people are experts in HRIS. This is your forte.

How to Create an Online Course regardless of authoring tool or lack thereof

Unlikely because unless you are an auditory learner, who can multi-task, the information you receive goes in one ear and out the other. I remember attending a virtual world workshop where the expert didn’t know how to create a virtual place where virtual folks could attend to acquire information, attend sessions, and so forth.

LinkedIn Learning Hub – Product Review (Exclusive)

LinkedIn Learning was hyping the “Hub” to be a new experience, an LXP with Skills and Experts. Live Office Hours with Experts. Kudos to LinkedIn for the spin, because live is heavily misleading, office hours is bogus, and experts – are well, I guess experts. I wasn’t sure what to expect.
