One term that has been static is SME (subject matter expert). Personally, I’m grateful to have worked with many brilliant experts and valued learning from them the ‘tricks of many trades’ to co-create learning experiences. It feels natural that the person who knows most about it (the expert) should be in charge.

Interestingly ChatGPT will help reduce L&D’s lead time as it will reduce the time commitment needed by subject matter experts and accelerate several writing tasks. Learning experience: formal learning is more that information, it should be engaging, varied and memorable. Where does formal learning win?

Essentially the aim is the same: get content that is useful, informative and fun in a format that it is easy for your target audience to find (search for) and apply. Do you need to be a subject matter expert to curate effectively? The basic hurdle for digital content is to be at least two out of useful, informative and fun.
