I keep Facebook for personal things, not biz, and I’m not on Instagram. I am posting these to both (I think). I’m finding LinkedIn to be more of an interaction location lately, as well, though it’s also become a bit spammy. sideeffects? I also won’t go on Threads or TikTok. So, what does it take to leave?

Social networks are a big part of my learning, which means that Facebook and LinkedIn also play big roles. Facebook’s more personal, ie less about work, but I learn about many societal things there. Slack has also been a major component of getting things done, mostly with IBSTPI.

With Slack, Zoom, LinkedIn, Facebook, and email. Facebook is reserved for interpersonal communications with friends, but it helps keep me sane. Slack is a working setup, mostly with my IBSTPI colleagues, but there’s a social group I’m part of on there as well.

A new common tragedy?

The ways in which certain platforms (*cough* Facebook *cough*) have been used to spread misinformation is a caution. In his Change the World Using Social Media , he says “social media platforms can…produce positive change” Of course, there are also problematic uses. Yet, I believe these are problems that are solvable.
