We supplement this with Google Docs for collaborative document creation, have started using Prezi for storyboarding complex branching scenarios and Mindmeister for top level instructional design. People in my wider network usually contact me by phone, Twitter or LinkedIn but not Facebook – I keep that for personal use.

How to Harness Informal Learning

I might, for example, seek the answer to a question via a Google or YouTube search, Twitter or by tapping into my online networks. It’s easy to see how informal learning can just be a green light for employees to chat to their friends on Facebook all day. Increasingly, technology also comes into the equation.
