Leslie demonstrated how easy it was to narrate a PowerPoint presentation, export it as an MP4 video and play it back on a video iPod. This installs a PowerPoint add-in which allows you to narrate your PowerPoint and, optionally, add presenter video via webcam.

Articulate Presenter is arguably the most popular PowerPoint to Flash conversion tool available. If you don’t already have the Flash Video Encoder (which comes with Flash) then this tool will be useful. It works fine, I just prefer Flash Video Encoder. Articulate Studio 09.

In the first two parts of this posting I reflected first on the importance of visualisation to memory and then on the effect on both me as presenter and on my audience of the absence of any PowerPoint slides at a networking dinner I spoke at. I am assuming, of course, that the slides really were visual aids and not textual prompts for me.

Some authoring tools even allow users to use PowerPoint slides as input material. FLV : Flash Video is a container file format used to deliver video over the Internet using Adobe Flash Player. Once everything is aligned with the template the user can publish the content.

The ingredients of Articulate Studio (Presenter for PowerPoint conversions, QuizMaker for assessments, Engage for innovative interactions) are well-established and deliver good functionality. What I haven't been too impressed with in the past is the way they integrate - they didn't look like they belonged together.

I use it all the time to pull colors from images when I work in PowerPoint. What the SWF Player did for SWF viewing, the FLV Player does for viewing Flash videos in FLV format. If you happen to be using the Articulate Video Encoder ‘09, then this is a redundant tool. Pixie is a simple color picker. Color Schemer.

Flash Widgets One of my biggest issues with Captivate as a serious eLearning tool, up to now, has been the limited feature set and the difficulty in extending that feature set. Improved PowerPoint Import PowerPoint import in Captivate 4 has been greatly improved. This means the PowerPoint import is no longer a one-way trip.
