Instructional design was actually being used. Because of the way the courses were designed. Everyone I knew, followed the ADDIE approach. Flash was very popular, but you needed to know Flash – and yep even in Flash, you could take the course design to a whole new level of engagement.

There are pre-assumptions in play if you attend a workshop or seminar on instructional design or course building. I’ve never seen a presentation where the basics, including all facets of the introductory course design, are provided, regardless of the authoring tool or lack thereof. What to Ignore ADDIE.

A lot of it isn’t instructional design quality, and many is something you could create on your own – actually, most of it is. Obviously, the content had to be instructional design sound. They include workbooks, flash cards, and other supporting materials as part of their course and content design.

I knew that its core audience would be instructional designers and e-learning developers. . For e-learning developers and instructional designers, they were aghast and in shock.
