For more interactive elements, I used Flash and imported the SWFs into Authorware. Almost every course involved using Flash for interactive elements (animations, games, quizzes, simulations, video, etc.). No, I can skip the middle man and produce entire courses in Flash.

Adobe Flash - The initial interface was built in Flash. However, the Flash movie sits within Articulate Presenter and navigates to an assessment made in Articulate Quizmaker which also sits within the same Presenter project (more on this later). Articulate Presenter - This is what I plopped the Flash and Quizmaker into.

Signs you are in e-learning hell (as a designer/developer): The Help Desk calls and tells you they are receiving too many calls regarding your course and the _ (pop-up blocker, Flash Player and/or LMS sign-on). Someone shows up at your office and says "Im here for the online training."* Nicely done.
