There has been some threads in user forum about the connection error which learners get in Slide Video. I got a chance to closely analyze many of these specific issues and in all the cases it turned out to be server configuration problems. All these has been due to server (web server or LMS) configuration issues.

Problem: Videos do not get streamed in Adobe Captivate projects. Reason: The URIs of the videos are specified incorrectly. One of my favorite features this time is the new Video import and synch capability in Captivate. Now you can add video content to your elearning just as easily as you were adding audio previously. This would be especially useful for talking head videos, that are describing or anchoring the content on the slide.

I was recently asked what video format to use and particularly about the differences between the Flash Video Format (FLV) and Windows Media - WMV Format. In The Rise of Flash Video - Tom Green tells us: This is not to say QuickTime and Windows Media are dead technologies. Flash files are very consistent in their playback.

Test on actual environment – environment is the combination of hosting server and end user’s machine. You do need to include all file types as some servers don’t allow the request for all media types by default and this has to be configured manually. Make sure to include the all file types [ like *.swf, No support for AS 3.0
