On top of all that, the LXP vendors (as a whole) pushed a false pretense that the LXP was vastly different than say an LMS. If you wanted assigned learning, yes, they offered that, but nobody was forced to select only that option. If you wanted self-paced learning, congrats they offered it as well. They see an opportunity in the SMB space where customers may not want to purchase an ERP for HR or a full blown HRIS and then purchase or have a LMS. For consumers who are worried about these systems being hacked, I have yet to hear of a SaaS LMS being hacked. OpenText purchased Operital, a LMS based in Australia.

I recall at ATD this past year, a vendor who was trying to sell people ahead of time their LMS. If you are willing to wait it out, until many of features I would find useful (and in many cases standard among the LMS space), then this is a system to explore. They sell the system two ways. The LMS is solid.
