AllenComm And ATD Join Forces For A Global Trend Report

In a partnership with the Association for Talent Development (ATD), AllenComm, a leader for innovative custom content, is proud to share an in-depth research report entitled 2019 Global Trends in Talent Development, authored by ATD. This report examines the talent development practices of global regions to identify key topics, practices, and challenges for each region. Based on a survey of 413 talent development professionals around the world, the report provides insight into top challenges and topics in talent development, including the use of technology as companies work through changing workforces and digital transformation.

Because digital transformation impacts how Learning and Development (L&D) teams react to and influence company objectives, L&D departments need to continually scale, innovate, and focus on the organizational impact to increase digital transformation adoption. The numbers on this report give context to how important it is to create excitement among new hires, develop more confident employees, and provide emerging leaders with the tools they need to excel. The changing workforce has made rallying employees around a company’s brand a critical component for the success of their L&D initiatives.

"Our interest in sponsoring this report directly supports our ongoing efforts to create innovative and transformative results for our clients," said Ron Zamir, AllenComm CEO. "This report will help L&D leaders prioritize where they should place their efforts to motivate and engage employees."

Global trends are pushing for change in how onboarding, leadership development, compliance, and sales enablement training are being delivered. Innovative L&D departments are harnessing the power of tailored digital tools and designs to scale training for the workforce, improve performance, and lower per-person-training costs.  Companies can use this report to spot the trends for training content and learning technologies that will be most useful for them.

According to the report, "More than 70 percent of employees in all regions have access to smartphones and Internet-connected computers during the workday." The report clearly shows that L&D professionals have an opportunity to utilize the technologies and tools their companies are investing in to radically change how employees engage and consume training content.

Some other key findings of this report:

  • Organizations in all regions struggled with aligning their talent development strategy to their business goals. About half of the respondents thought their organization’s talent development goals and business goals were aligned.
  • Respondents in North America were significantly more likely than those in other regions to have access to and use development resources their organization paid for, such as tuition reimbursement, association memberships or conferences, certifications, or self-development materials.

The valuable information contained in Global Trends in Talent Development can help Learning and Development leaders to see what’s next for the industry and inform their training strategy for the coming year.
