So the pictures I upload to Project 365 this year may not be the most technically-accomplished, but they will provide a record of my year and something for me to look back on. Having photos of special people and places, and even of quite ordinary, uneventful occasions, is important to me and brings me a lot of happiness.

By coincidence, just this morning I read an article by Imogen Casebourne about Google translate, the Babel Fish and the future of language learning.

Interactions: to tell or to test?

Think about when you’ve Googled something and found yourself wading through page upon page of information, making it impossible to identify the key points. A ‘telling’ interaction can also provide some structure to the learner and help them focus as they work through and assimilate lots of potentially detailed information.

I wasn’t surprised to see this film – presumably inspired by Google’s Project Glass and similar technology – on the list, as it had already come to mind earlier in the course. Initially the Sight Systems augmented reality contact lens technology appears intriguing.

Learning 2012: the 30 Under Thirty experience

Anyone at the conference – provided they were over 30 – could turn up to do some speed mentoring with us under-30s. Plans are being made for coffees and catch-ups as people pass through each other’s cities, and a series of Google Hangouts and lunch-and-learn webinars are being scheduled.
