It provides the shock absorbers on the often bumpy road of organizational change. Yet there is still a tremendous gap between what is expected of executives and the resources available to help them acquire both the inner-core attributes and outer-core skills and competencies required to achieve those expectations. | | | | | | | LEARNING VISIONS MAY 6, 2009 Cammy Beans Learning Visions: Describing What You Do: Instructional Design Wednesday, May 06, 2009 Describing What You Do: Instructional Design Youre at a playground and you start talking to the mom sitting on the bench next to you. Eventually, she asks you what you do for work. What do you say? This was me yesterday: Playground Mom: So, what do you do? What I am more interested is how can learning consultants help make this transition from L&D to T&D (Talent and Development)? How can learning consultants help L&D transition to T&D? It gives a clear picture as to what gaps exist and these gaps may not necessarily be training related. We have suggested process changes, structural changes, training, and so on to address these gaps. | SPARK YOUR INTEREST JULY 29, 2010 Why learning pros needs to know about performance management Would people be able to discuss their skill gaps or express their interest in exploring a career path without performance feedback? Many organizations use the 5 point scale with the intent to provide a range of ratings. How will you ever know that there is a need for training if there is no performance management? If you are smart, you’ll use the data in a performance management system to help the organization become more successful. If tools can provide more real-time feedback opportunities. And, it just might be wrong. Web 2.0 | TONY KARRER DECEMBER 9, 2009 2009 Predictions How Did I Do? In fact, I’ll be doing a virtual presentation around it as well. Instead, we will call this "self-directed learning" and will do our best to support the workforce to learn it on their own with minimal guidance and support.
