There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a challenging year full of unprecedented hurdles. With the devastating health impact brought on by COVID-19 to the lingering effects on the global economy, we have all learned that adaptation and resilience are key.

To help inspire and thrive in our post-pandemic world SafetyCulture and EdApp are hosting a completely free summit happening on November 19 and 20, 2020. The Summit will focus on the shift from surviving to thriving as we approach 2021.

Hosted by David Brown, podcast host and the journalist behind “Business Wars” and “Business Wars Daily”, the virtual event will include a collection of leaders and innovators who are proven masters of adaptation.

Who will be speaking?

Captain “Sully” Sullenberger

Captain “Sully” Sullenberger is known for successfully landing US Airways passenger flight 1549 on the Hudson River after a double engine failure in 2009. Leading up to this, Sullenberger had been an Air Force fighter pilot and then a commercial pilot for 29 years. Regarded for his heroism and humility, Sullenberger saved 155 people with his quick thinking and calm demeanor. He was subsequently ranked second in TIME’s “Top 100 Most Influential Heroes and Icons of 2009” and was awarded the French Legion of Honor.

Erin Brockovich

Erin Brockovich is a Consumer Advocate and Environmental Activist, known primarily for her case around contaminated water in the southern Californian town of Hinkley. Brockovich found Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG & E) was dumping chromium-tainted wastewater into unlined wastewater spreading ponds around the town, which resulted in devastating health complications, including cancer. She famously took on PG & E – and won – in 1992. Today, Brockovich is President of Brockovich Research & Consulting and continues to be involved in numerous environmental projects worldwide.

Captain Scott Kelly

As a history-making NASA Astronaut, Captain Scott Kelly is the first to complete a Year-in-Space Mission from 2015 to 2016. The inspiring mission also involved Kelly’s twin brother, Mark – who stayed on Earth, to compare and measure how space affects the human body. The Year-in-Space Mission captivated millions and Kelly walked away with reflections on leadership, teamwork, and testing limits. His views on the possibilities of human potential are inspiring as he states, “After spending a year in space, I was absolutely inspired that if we can dream it, we can do it…and most importantly if we work as a team because teamwork makes the dream work. The sky is not the limit.”

John McAvoy

John McAvoy is an accomplished Nike Ironman athlete who is also known for his history as being one of the most wanted men in Great Britain to spending time in Belmarsh high-security prison. McAvoy credits his redemption through the power of sport and today speaks of his story and uses his story of rehabilitation to hip and inspire others to make a change in their lives.

Craig Tiley

Craig Tiley is the leader behind Australia’s largest and most successful international sporting event: Australian Open. Tiley, Director of Australian Open and CEO of Tennis Australia, is known for his innovative and passionate nature, with relentless focus on improvement. He also demonstrates unparalleled leadership abilities paired with business capabilities and serves as the Chair of the Coalition of Major Professional and Participation Sports (COMPPS).
