I always found that there are two types of people in the training and L&D space. But when there are research and data to support the failings of Instructor-Led Training, many people ignore it. . If it works so great for you, why are you using online learning as a core component of your L&D or training? Why is that?

When did employees and customers for learning/training become irrelevant?

And yet, companies repeatedly will lay off the head of L&D, the head of Training, and often the staff in L&D or Training. If If you provide customer training, those folks in Training typically get laid off, too. They, your boss says, are committed to providing learning and training to their employees.

Frontline Workers + Online Learning – Does it work?

Hojo (its nickname) provided some training. Zero training.  One offered training; one offered misery.  This was, of course, before e-learning was around, let alone CBT (Computer-Based Training, 640 MB on a CD – for those curious). Neither I find many in L&D and, yes, training. It was a fun gig.

I never saw the old way of training with manuals, and F2F ILT as the way it had to be. Why are people still big fans of face to face ILT, when the data already out there was showing that e-learning was equal to if not better for comprehension, retention and synthesis to classroom/seminar training/learning?

History of the LMS

CBT (Computer-Based Training). ILT (Instructor Led Training – Workplace, even EdTech – K-12 and Higher Education). WBT (Web-Based Training). Heck, I was in a doctorate program, whereas the majority of the ‘courses’ was via Lotus Notes, the other was ILT. It had something to do with ILT.
