Shortly thereafter, she challenged everyone to come up with 10 reasons NOT to ban social media. am doing social media full-time as my job with Education Services at EMC. The more one you participate in blogs, discussions groups and other social networking tools, the more information there is about you in the world for anyone to access. If you assume that everything you are doing, including what you write in email and IM, is fully public, you tend to protect yourself. Does this concern you?

Wednesday, August 22, 2007 Private Social Networks - not your daddys Facebook I suppose Im not high class or connected enough to be one of the 260,000 elite members of ASmallWorld. Its a social network, much like Facebook , but you must be invited by trusted members. Ours is only by invitation.

People find each other using the site and then connect via chat, IM, voice/Skype, etc. There are other resources, but the use of a social network to find people who can help each other learn the language is a great idea. italki is an interesting website in the language learning space - which seems to be very busy these days.

IM is much more conversational. But because of the lag in IM, you can have multiple conversations simultaneously. With IM, it’s minutes. 8220;Social proprioception. Facebook & LinkedIn make it easy to keep in touch with people, including keeping a record of when we last had contact. Questions.
