This is not so of a new generation of social networking technology, which is being used to provide software services under trading names such as Ning, CollectiveX, Sossoon, Hiitch, Huddle, Mzinga, British Telecom's Workspace (project management), Clearspace, and even Microsoft's Sharepoint. They will share a portion of a clip from the ELCE show, where they asked the “founding fathers” of the LMS industry, “With the growing trend towards social and informal learning, what do you think the role of the LMS will be in the future.” Who were these “founding fathers” and CEO’s?

Mzinga is clearly targeted at the learning space, being integrated with an LMS. Yet, for a learning group, Mzinga’s integration of formal and informal learning is also plausible. We were prompted to visit Blue Kiwi , which is probably the leading European social media platform.

What is the form of informal learning? I somewhat got this wrong as the big LMS vendors seem to now refer to themselves in terms of talent management and workforce productivity rather than innovating around the learning itself. However, there's Communities / Social Networking and LMS Merger announcement around Mzinga.
