They were impressed with the amount and quality of the information available in group discussions.

It is a social network for only members of your organization. Only staff within your organization can sign into your network (i.e. the training and development department can have its own separate group within the organization's Yammer network). This brings an important networking element. So, what makes it different?

And due to the bank acquisition and upcoming lay-offs, it had a very strong focus on using LinkedIn as a tool for employment networking.

It is a fantastic means of creating a personal learning network (PLN) no matter what industry your are in or your interests. FYI, most tweetchats are very informal and about learning, connecting and having fun with people you share something in common. Of course I am still determined to make tweeps of everyone - not giving up.

Besides being able to join user groups and share resources and information, one can also set up a network of friends, similar to Facebook and Linked In. I just set up my profile (JeffGoldman) and browsed around a little bit. It appears it will be a great resource for collaborating within and between groups.
