How Can Simulation-Based Training Improve Machine Handling At Workplace

Simulation Based Training

Every organization wants to gain an extra edge by introducing new and sophisticated machineries that will mitigate risks to meet stringent regulations and business needs. Most of the industry leaders are grappling with increased technical complexity than what engineers might not have imagined before. With technical innovation, engineers should be well-trained on how each component of the machineries work. Today, many organizations are shifting to simulation-based learning to get more skilled workforce, in a shorter time and to save costs. To ensure optimal efficiency of machineries at workplace, it is crucial for employees to be proficient in using software as well as hardware for daily operations at the workforce.

A conventional classroom training approach leaves the functionality of machines to the imagination of workforce. Simulation-based training imparts a visual appeal along with an effective demonstration of how things happen in real life. Simulations enable employees to improve skills and knowledge necessary to respond to serious work conditions and to apply their experiences without damaging the environment or exposing it to dangerous conditions. This results in improving their hands-on experience which encourages them to access more courses and enhance their overall workplace performance. Instead of creating text-heavy courses, simulations are embedded to show learners the actual working of machines in a better way. Undoubtedly, simulations leave little or no scope for mistakes when working on machines, resulting in a highly superior training experience. One of the most important benefits of simulation training is that it reduces the travel and infrastructural costs. As a result, the organizational personnel retains more information after experiencing new things in a more impactful virtual learning environment. Let us share our experience with one of our clients.

We provided simulation-based learning solution to the manufacturers and educational institutions. Initially, the client provided us with lengthy storyboards, based on which we had to create Illustrations, Interactivities and animations. The key challenge was to understand the functionality of advanced machinery such as CNC Lathe, CNC Mill and grinding machines.

To address this challenge, we composed Flash-based animations to impart accurate information on the working of different machinery. We also added clickables and drop/drop features so that employees can learn at their own pace. Also, audios and videos were included to deliver an experience which is personalized as well as engaging. Till now, we have gained enough confidence of our client in providing effective e-learning courses on different machines and their functionality.

With robust technologies being used, it is evident that simulations will set a benchmark in delivering experiential learning experience to meet customized needs. We are engaged in doing a lot more research based on the same. The latest requirement is to embed different technologies for additive manufacturing that uses the layer-upon-layer development of typically-shaped objects. With our continued effort to deliver highly interactive e-learning solutions, we ensure to come out with the best training results in the future.
