Our newer products, like Jing, drop some of the legacy C++ code for shiny new C# and.NET. Camtasia:Mac actually started out as a cross platform version of Camtasia Studio so a lot of its back end code is written in C++. As Windows evolves, so does our software. Our web products run on Microsoft servers using ASP.NET.

Before using Camtasia, we recorded with Jing, which had a five minute time limit per video. My least favorite thing about screencasting are the differences between the Mac and PC versions. In the PC version, I miss some of the cool Mac video FX like the Window Spotlight used in the MSU Survey video. Gravity Works.

The desktop version synchs to the web which synchs to my iPod Touch. I would add Captivate and Jing.man do I use Jing! A place where I process thoughts and ideas, record notes of online sessions, and seek advice. Evernote I heart Evernote. Its my new notetaking application. I can take and access my notes anywhere.
