Looking back on 2019, I can’t express enough how proud I am of all of the folks at Rustici Software and the work we accomplished. It’s been a pretty exciting year in a number of ways.

Our company

Early this year, we began to shift our focus by introducing a new tagline, “eLearning technology experts.” This change, though small on its face, serves both as a response to industry changes as well as guidance about where we, Rustici Software, are headed. We love standards; that’s why we’ve always been the “eLearning standards experts”. However, it’s become increasingly clear the industry is shifting and the problems we solve for our customers must expand beyond learning standards. This change in focus is clear in the work our product and development teams have been doing.

Our products

Rustici Engine, the product we’re most known for, made huge inroads towards our goal of providing more than just learning standards to our customers this year. Instead, we’re now able to provide a whole collection of key components to help our customers take their learning products to market faster than ever before. From adding pre-built content integrations to supporting additional content types for video, audio files, documents and links plus the ability to create custom reports using a new reporting extension, Rustici Engine 2019 was a big leap forward for us. We’re excited to see what new classes of problems we can solve for our customers while continuing to provide the best standards support in the industry.

Across our SCORM Cloud and Content Controller products, we’ve made changes to make it easier for our customers to manage their current implementations. In SCORM Cloud, we deployed the newest SCORM Cloud API, making SCORM Cloud fully compatible with Rustici Engine so you have more flexibility and no more technical hurdles when it comes to building your own integrations. And in Content Controller v2.2, we added improvements to how customers manage language equivalents and SSO credentials.

Our people

There’s a reason why I (and the rest of the team) love working here. We’ve created a remarkable place to look forward to on Mondays, which is why being named as one of the Nashville Business Journal’s Best Places to Work for the tenth time means so much to us.

We also welcomed five new people to the Rustici Software family: Michaela Powell, Sara Topic, Liz Poston, Miles Price, and Joshua Turner. (Speaking of, we’re still looking to fill two open positions for an Infrastructure Engineer and Software Developer roles.)

And how did we celebrate this amazing year full of accomplishments? With a very merry Rus-Tiki Thanksmas filled with mid-century Tiki-themed décor, tasty treats, fun trivia and prizes. Thanks to everyone who helped us accomplish these feats and cheers to friends old and new. We can’t wait to see what 2020 brings!
