My first 360° project !…
I'm a former teacher (and headmaster) in french primary schools. Now I work as a freelance on the net as a webmaster. I used to work with Flash for many years, but now I'm starting to discover Captivate and find it amazing !...

It’s my first post here, so I will start by introducing briefly myself.

I was a french teacher (and headmaster) in primary schools. I quit the National Education to create my virtual school on the web more than 10 years ago. I used to play with Flash for many years and you can still find my old work here :

But everybody know here that Flash is dead… or nearly so…

And I find in Captivate the best alternative to re-create my work !… So I started playing with Captivate last year in December, and I’ve already made dozens of project in my new virtual school :

But I’m not here today to speak about my life… but about my last experiment with Captivate which is a 360° project that I just finished minutes ago. And as I wanted to write here about my experience for long, I find that this is the good occasion !…

First of all, there’s no need to use a 360° image (as I thought before). I just create a big image (3000 x 2000 px in png) and insert it in the 360° slide. Then I created my own buttons (as the ones in Captivate were too big for me) and I played with images and sounds.

Everything was easy !…

I just want to precise that if the project doesn’t load fast, it means that there is an issue with an action/link. As I have dozens of sounds (Mp3) and images (jpg), it still loads very surprisingly fast (when there was no more issue) !…

My only regret is that the project is not html5 scale-able and I have to keep the initial size.

Anyway, I’m very happy with the result !…

You can find it here :

or attached in the file.

I can’t finish my first post here without thanking greatly Dr Pooja (the one who convinced me to come to Captivate), but also our friends from the forum : Lilybiri, RodWard, Stagprime, (…), and Paul Wilson for his awesome videos !… Great thanks to them and to all the community !

Happy time with Captivate !…

Hello Ludovic,

Thank you for sharing your website and the work you do!  I loved  your website and the FREE information you have there. Amazing job! In terms of the 360° image, I think works great. I was able to play around and practice the sounds.

Thanks again for the inspiration! Merci!

Thank you for the tip about 360-degree images “First of all, there’s no need to use a 360° image (as I thought before). I just create a big image (3000 x 2000 px in png) and insert it in the 360° slide. “  I wasn’t aware of this.  Good to know.

In fact, this was just a try with an old version of Cpt 2019. I will have to save this project in the newest one, will make some changes also and hope the project will appear in full screen. I’m busy with other projects now but I will soon try to see the result with the new version…
