If you can prohibit learners from upgrading to the new operating system until your team can test, that can save you a big headache. Will you allow learners to BYOD? BYOD (bring your own device) is when the company does not provide devices for the learner to use. Each person must provide/bring their own device.

It’s your job to work with you SMEs to extract the most relevant information your learners need to know…or do (more on that later). When you first meet with a SME on a new e-learning project, it’s easy to get them to list all of the things they want learners to know about the topic you’re addressing.

I typically use them in my e-learning courses when I want to add a bit of visual contrast or to keep things fun for the learner. Well, to be honest, when I first plugged it in and used it with the provided software, my hand-drawn graphics were far from beautiful.

Finished storyboards and completed modules from Artisan’s previous courses for the same client provided both examples and templates. Viewing the existing lessons provided a vision of where we were going as well as an understanding of how all of the source materials would ultimately fit into, and contribute to, our finished product.

We can create desire in a course by helping a learner see what they will learn in the course and how it will help them. The “WIIFM” may encourage the learner to take the necessary time to learn concepts. LEGO doesn’t come out and say, “By the end of this 3-hour session, you will create an airplane with the pieces provided.”
