Articulate, Captivate, Dreamweaver and Lectora Tops in eLearning Authoring Tool Satisfaction

This data shows that the Articulate tools, Adobe Captivate and Dreamweaver and Lectora are near the top for elearning course authoring. While tools such as Toolbook and Authorware are down a bit. You can see the detailed view of the sat numbers here. What surprised me is that there wasn't more discussion around this.

Then I went on to show about 12 tools in more detail – some of which would probably make it onto a top ten list (Flash, Captivate, Articulate, and Lectora) – the remaining tools trying to hit at some of the other options out there (Smart Builder, eXe, Udutu, Thinking Worlds, Raptivity, Flypaper, Mohive, and Atlantic Link).

Be Wary of Authoring Tool Comparisons

This authoring tool was Toolbook, and I believe it was version 9. There were some small jobs done in Lectora and Storyline along the way as well, but I didn’t spend enough time in either to form a solid opinion. I’ve not actively used Toolbook in many years. Of course, this wouldn’t be very fair to Toolbook.
