I import a character from Library. I edit the character (say, flip it horizontally) on the slide. But for the next slide I have to edit it for a second time since the Library copy retains only the original unedited version. How can I make sure the edits are saved back to the Library image so that I won’t have to edit it again for each slide? Thanks.

First part about Editing characters has been posted in this portal and on my personal blog:

I will post a blog about editing characters in the near future,  which will also be an explanation about roundtripping. Discovered some special features about characters, different from other images.

If you need to retain the original you might try duplicating the original image in the Library then rename it before editing and saving the copy as Lieve mentions above.

This is the workflow I am using (maybe will post it as a short workflow. Select the image on the stage and use the right-click menu to find it in the Library. Use the right-click menu on that image (png) in the Library and choose Edit with, and the graphics app of your choice (I am using PS). When you have saved the edited image in the app return to Captivate. Use the right-click menu again in the Library on the character, and choose Update.
