Trainers – Popular in UK, whereas a trainer buys courses and then can sell the courses to clients, I could easily toss in consultants who do the same thing; regardless the trainer would need a LMS first to house the courses in order for them to slide under B2B. A vendor who made not only poor business decisions with the likes of Percipio, but also with the monumental blunder of acquiring SumTotal. . The buy was a bad relationship in the making, one where the owner – “Skillsoft” and ownee “SumTotal” never seemed to get on track with one another.

Q : I am curious on why Cornerstone On Demand, Saba and SumTotal do not appear in your top twenty lists even though they appear on other sites as the best products in the market. Saba - A solid system, but IMO (in my opinion) better suited for talent/performance management. So, back for another installment.

I’ve seen some PM components entering LXPs and learning platforms, neither of which, would ever say they are an LMS. And yet, I hear over and over again, the “LMS is dead” spin, or at full maturity angle, which leads to the end of the LMS, as though the use of term screams the end of the world.

They see an opportunity in the SMB space where customers may not want to purchase an ERP for HR or a full blown HRIS and then purchase or have a LMS. Systems that are only available as hosted on your own servers are starting to significantly decline. Huge explosion in SaaS based only systems. Prediction. How amazing?
