Skillsoft at this present time, does not sell Skillport as a separate LMS. . 0025% in the entire industry (calculated on number of acquisitions based on 580 systems in the market – at that time). There are plenty of other “LMS” vendors who pitch learning under HR or as a true component of HR).

Now I don't normally get very excited about LMSs but these awards attracted my attention, because in amongst the Sabas and the SumTotals was little ol' open-source Moodle: Award for market share - Small and Medium Corporate Learning Management Systems - Platinum award: Moodle. LMSs (Saba, SumTotal, SkillPort, etc.)

However, I would be concerned if I was a starter LMS vendor because Moodle is going to cause you grief in the bottom of the market. SkillPort scores very high as well on satisfaction. I love acquisitions. They shake things up and restack the competitive deck giving new competitors a chance. In only a few short days, my reaction to Skillsoft acquiring SumTotal Systems has shifted from “Wow!” to “Hmmm” to “Eureka” to “Yeah!”.

If you go the primary route, courses #1, LMS included, then any market will work. That said, if you are seeking an LMS who can API/interface to SharePoint, then the vast majority of systems on the market can do that. If you are an Oracle customer, you can interface or API with many LMS vendors in the market. ELEARNINGFORCE.
