When developing eLearning, the content is often created in Microsoft PowerPoint first.   Note:  Microsoft PowerPoint must be installed on your computer before you can import PowerPoint presentations into Captivate. Also, the ability to import PowerPoint presentations isn't new. Choose  Window > Library.

Consider what mechanisms are in place to deliver classes synchronously or asynchronously. Are they using Blue Jeans, Zoom, Google Hangouts, or Microsoft Meetings? Record / Narrate a PPT. A limit of one new tool is acceptable. It should not disrupt or create frustration in the faculty and student experience.

For PPT lovers, you can synch video files with PPT with drag and drop. The reason I say education/academia more so – is that it is geared towards synchronous based learning, which is used more than 95% in education/academia space. You can also connect the iPad PPT to a monitor and show it there. It is 100% bogus.

Dropbox is free cloud-storage and file synchronization software. Quickoffice Pro HD is the best Microsoft Office suite app I could find for the iPad. It works with most MS Office documents (doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, and pptx), and allows you to create, view, edit, save, and track changes directly from your iPad.

A few rapid content authoring tool vendors who pitch that taking a Microsoft Word document and changing it to flash is effective learning. Books, presentations, blogs that state follow the PPT mantra. Synchronous based learning, which follows the ILT approach but adds discussion boards, so that makes it okay.
