They were not the first ones with a mobile app. I did like the SumTotal app for Support, I thought that was clever, but it was more about a stigma that SumTotal had/has poor support. ExpertusOne was the first vendor to have geolocation with their mobile app. The first with the playlist tied to machine learning.

Moodle can be a worthwhile system but it requires heavy customization, dedicated IT person who has Moodle skill sets (ideal), in-house support (because when end users can’t figure it out – they will come calling YOU) and costs that many folks fail to realize. While the blocks/tiles is nice (admins can turn it on/off) and the learning guides (for mobile, specifically smartphones) is slick (it is all about bytes of learning), the system as a whole is a quagmire of blandness. I have always seen then as talent/performance management platform which was becoming more of a HCM and this only re-confirmed it. A few years back I had a call with Saba and in the call they told me that 63% of their customers were using their platform as a talent and performance management system and not as a LMS.
