We’re mobile. They need a new platform. Salesforce has developed just such a platform, Salesforce1. Either way, it’s the platform on which future training programs, extremely short ones, will play. He showed his Canon camera which has a help button for instantly calling for help from the manufacturer.

We’ll see an increasing use of mobile, and some organizations will recognize the platform that such devices provide to move the full suite of learning support (specifically performance support and informal learning) out to employees, dissolving the arbitrary boundaries between training and the full spectrum of possibilities.

The great news is that social and informal learning don’t require new systems because learning can take place on the same “platform” as the existing social network, if a company already has one.
