My new job will not use Moodle. I've pretty much left Moodle in a position where it can be ignored for awhile until someone decides to take ownership and start the reintroduction process. They are transitioning from a home-grown, simple web page with a database to Skill Soft. didn't have a chance. don't see that happening anytime soon.

Moodle is well known for a slight lack of design flair in the out-of-the-box theme packs. Often, though, we'll need to redesign the overall look and feel of a Moodle site. Moodle is a very complex application, with many different parts of the interface that need styling. Thirdly, Moodle themes cascade. That's fine.

Why Moodle? One of the most frequently asked questions I get from blog readers is "Why did I choose to go with Moodle" over other Learning Management Systems. The answer is simple; Moodle gives you the most bang for your buck, especially if you don't have a lot of bucks. However, Moodle is not all rainbows and unicorns.

And “in times like these…” Why pay for a pricey LMS when you can Moodle or Drupal or Sakai ? Moodle and other open source products have huge communities behind them. There’s no vendor who creates Moodle per say. But Moodle is increasingly being used in the corporate market. Moodle out of the box is like vanilla pudding.

Moodle does a lot of things great, but site wide reporting and bulk user management are definitely not included in those great things. If you are a Moodle administrator for an organization I am sure you know the pain of having to go into each course site to produce grade reports for multiple courses. Tags: Moodle eLearning
