It resembled a rock-show arena with a brightly lit, kaleidoscopic stage, laser lights doing their thing and various musical instruments (I don’t know all the names so won’t get into the details) casually strewn about. The day began with rock music—yes! I quickly grabbed one in the first row and settled down.

They learned to stand up in front of a crowd and speak with confidence and ease (no mean fit) It taught them the power of articulating their passion through words, images, videos, music.

At the other extreme, groups made up of individuals who had all worked together previously also tended to create musicals that were unsuccessful. These networks were not well connected and contained mostly weak ties.

We stood quietly listening to the jungle sounds--a music offered for free if one cares to listen. It was still impenetrably dark outside, the trees loomed like huge black shadows, weirdly shaped, mysterious. The moonlight glinted down casting strange, hallucinatory shapes on the ground, tricking my eyes.

I spent hours in my room reading, playing with Cat, and listening to music when I was not in Katha-O-Kahini (our bookstore) attending to the customers. But I learned to love solitude, to value privacy, to be thankful for the freedom and the peace. ( To this day, noise agitates me. )

I have spent time on fruitless rumination when that time could have been spent doing myriad other things that give me profound joy like spending time with my daughter and family, listening to music, just being with nature, reading, writing, learning, travelling, growing.being my own best friend.
