The Internet Time Community has been hosted on Ning for a little over three years. We’ve experimented with features, swapped ideas, kept track of one another, and so forth. Diigo - or any other social bookmarker Diigo is very important to keep track off your online sources. Ning - or other paid online platforms I hesitated whether Ning had to be included in the list because it is not a free tool. Ning is a social network, but it can also be a LMS (Learning Management System) such as Moodle.

For instance, if you are hoping to get more donors through social media presence, keep track of the number of donors referred to you via social media. I have seen people learn about Ning and putting up a Ning for their family reunions and sports clubs. Motivate the elephant. Try and find out what makes people interested.

Many of the people to track are sharing their interesting discoveries.  It’s also a way to track what’s hot and new. And Ning’s quite interesting too. However, they’re beginning to turn into one big Ning mass that I have trouble differentiating. The Work Literacy one on Learning 2.0

It is important to track progress, assess products produced by learners, build collaborative learning environments, encourage reflection, and help them become more aware of contextual hints to aid understanding and transference. To do this, one must recast their role from a teacher to a facilitator.

LMS and Learning Tracking Still Struggling While LMS solutions continue to get better, more powerful, more diverse, I continue to find myself searching for just the right solution for particular needs. I was also struggling for clients who needed very simple learning tracking but with some customizations.

From an administrative and management perspective in a large organization, the purpose of a learning management system (LMS) is both delivering and tracking training and learning information. For example, Yammer offers an API integration with Sharepoint, which can be used as an LMS. Just waiting to see who gets there first!
