To build a sense of wonder before each class, I like to set up a virtual polling question or discussion board about the topic to be addressed in the lecture, and then have students asynchronously collaborate with each other. One of the sessions I was in, was a blogger session which included Stephen Downes, a foremost expert on OER (Open Educational Resources). Has areas for video, webcasts (live and archived/recorded), streaming video, audio.

MOOCs , OER University, Stanford AI. I have a quick Twitter poll – I’m considering offering a MOOC in logic and critical thinking starting in September. Contributed to the UNESCO OER discussion list , February 16, 2009. This model of change is relevant in education today. But it’s getting closer.
