Learning & working are interconnected in the network era. | BIG DOG, LITTLE DOG MAY 20, 2012 Updated Table of Five Design Models I recently added a new row to the table of design methodologies that shows some examples after a request from a reader: A Table of Design Models: Instructional, Thinking, Agile, System, or X Problems? would be interested to know if the examples are helpful | | | | | | | | | -

Tablets: Finally a technology for the classroom I wanted to blog again as it's been a while. Amongst all the different facets of my work recently, the area that is most stimulating my thinking is ipads and the potential of tablets in formal education. feel strongly that tablets have the potential to have really positive impact on our formal education in the classroom. The Unexamined Leadership Program is Not Worth Doing If you’re not going to evaluate a leadership development program, don’t do the program! It will be a waste of time, money, energy, and trust. Viv Nunn of UK’s Open University, in an article for TrainingZone , explains some of the reasons for evaluating professional development programs. MORE >> -

As the The Gamification of Learning and Instruction Blog Book Tour has been underway, another interesting discussion has been occurring in the learning blogosphere. It was sparked by Ruth Clark’s article “ Why Games Don’t Teach. The article kicked off a firestorm of debate, demands for proof and even name calling. Christy Tucker addresses the question in her post. There is a healthy discussion on the eLearning Guild’s LinkedIn group. In Guy Wallace’s post on the subjec t, he quotes Dr. Richard Clark talking about the “ideologically committed gamester.” The Argument. So we’ll start there. MORE >>
