Workplace learning professionals now find themselves in the middle of conversations about leveraging mobile devices for growth and support. Works (mostly) across all platforms. | | | | | | | ABSORB LMS DECEMBER 6, 2012 How to Use a Learning Management System for Performance Support About a dozen years ago, learning and development professionals thought performance support was bigger than Tom Hanks , Meryl Streep , and The Beatles all rolled into one. Conferences about performance support were filled to capacity. Electronic performance support support systems (EPSS) were the rage. When developing applications for just-in-time performance support, here are some items I keep on my checklist. | UPSIDE LEARNING BLOG FEBRUARY 4, 2011 Leveraging Mobile Learning Platforms As Performance Support Systems This post specifically talks about how a Mobile Learning Platform can be used as an effective Performance Support System. What is a ‘Performance Support System’? A ‘Performance Support System’ or PSS refers to any system that improves worker productivity by providing on-the-job access to integrated information, advice and learning experiences. | ALLISON ROSSETT SEPTEMBER 8, 2012 On the brink with mobile– what learning executives say My point then was that mobile offers immense potential for learning and support but that it is not yet making much of a difference in the enterprise. Performance support and mobile devices only rarely appeared in the organizational playbook they described. As we look at more recent data, we find an uptick for performance support, in general, but not yet for mobile delivery. CLARK QUINN | FRIDAY, JANUARY 6, 2012 Performance Architecture We need to think of content architectures, blends between formal and informal, contextual awareness, cross- platform delivery, and more. Yet the vision driving this is, to me, truly inspiring: augmenting our performance in the moment and developing us over time in a seamless way, not in an idiosyncratic and unaligned way. The performance model is wrong: it’s not all in the head, it’s distributed across tools and systems. I think it’s about a support system organized so that it recognizes what you’re trying to do, and provides possible help. MORE >> -
CONNECT THINKING | FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2012 Performance support tools for learning – a decentralised strategy There may be a central role in purchasing social media platforms (with stakeholder input). The same can be said about role-based performance support tools. Performance support is about providing staff with access to the right information and people ’just-in-time’, at the point of need.
