It’s here! Content Controller v2.1 is officially available. The latest release of Content Controller lets you share content as LTI, includes updated user roles and allows for custom player styles, features that help you deliver your courses to other eLearning platforms in whichever standard you desire and better manage employees’ roles within the application.

Highlights of Content Controller v2.1

Content Controller share as LTI

Share as LTI

Good news for anyone that distributes content to academic institutions! In addition to allowing you to share content as SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or an AICC package, Content Controller’s latest release allows you to share content as an LTI tool provider. This update ensures you can build your content in a way that makes sense for you.

Content Controller access controls

Updated user roles and account access controls

In the beginning, Content Controller had a very simple user model; every user could perform any action within the application. The challenge with that is that often companies require different permissions for different employees. For example, a “content manager” may use the application very differently from an “account manager.” Content Controller v2.1 allows you to manage users and permissions in two ways.

First, Content Controller allows you to assign Administrative Users. Creating and deleting users, managing API credentials and changing system-wide settings are now capabilities limited to Administrative Users.

Second, Account Access Controls are now available in Content Controller, which provides the ability to restrict access to accounts on a user by user basis. Users are also granted certain permissions within accounts, either via read-only or read-write access. Using Account Access Controls, our clients can limit which users can upload or update content, identify which users can view reports for an account, or limit which users can update license details on an account.

Custom player styles

Content Controller v2.1 allows you to change the content player’s appearance on a per-account basis. This is a nifty feature for those looking to create different player styles for different clients or hoping to add branding to the title bar of multi-SCO courses.

Troubleshooting tools

If you’re running into issues with certain client LMSs or content behaviors, our new troubleshooting features can help. Content Controller has always had a sandbox for testing and configuring courses but did not offer much help for diagnosing issues “in the wild.” Now you can get the complete registration state, launch history and debug logs for a particular course and learner.
