Get set up and running with your Wacom tablet. Replace your mouse with a pressure-sensitive pen. Learn the basic settings to allow you unlimited artistic freedom using dynamic brush settings. Use Photoshop and Illustrator to enjoy the feeling of painting with brushes. (Part 1)

Thanks for posting the video. I am bit ashamed to confess that sice I have a touch screen (Surface Pro 4), I’m not using my Wacom tablet much less. Illustrator has a Touch workspace, which I love. My bad, understandable since I use Illustrator mostly to create assets for Captivate, it is not an application where I spend so much time. Maybe I’ll search my Intuos tablet again 🙂

I’ve never used touchscreen, but I’d like to try it and compare the two. I discovered I liked the slight resistance on the tablet, which helped me to control the brush strokes a bit more. Up until recently, I’ve done all of my logo and illustration work with a simple wireless mouse. Now that I’m utilizing Photoshop for background painting, I needed to get outside my comfort zone. Thanks for your comment!

It is more direct, because with a Wacom/Intuos tablet you need to move on another surface and look at the screen to see the result. That takes a bit of learning, there is even a lynda.com course about using a wacom tablet for that reason. No need when you are using a touch screen. I just hope that more Adobe applications will offer a touch workspace (including Captivate, my favourite one). Illustrator has it already, feels little bit like the mobile apps from Adobe.
