I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

Learn.com; Plateau Learning – It seemed like a good idea Count Olaf. For the person whose idea was to buy Plateau, a good idea. Probably the best con artist of all time. He once got a guy to buy the Eiffel Tower. Then took the guy’s money and bolted, before said person realized that the tower wasn’t for sell.

Plateau Learning – I never understood the love for this system. I will add there was some confusion around Litmos and the whole Plateau thing. SuccessFactors acquired the Plateau LMS (way before SF was acquired by SAP). Knowledge Arcade makes up 50% of their sales (for 2020), and will likely do at least that for 2021.

Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). If you are seeking TM as your focus and you want one of the big dogs – I found Plateau’s system to offer appropriate functionality for it, but found some real concern in other areas (see my product review). These standout to me. Categories. Razor thin?

Two vendors – Plateau and GeoLearning products will be reviewed and presented to you in the next three weeks. Many vendors state “LMS&# , even though it comes with a content authoring tool and additional features – this is a trend. Vendors Reviewed.

One competitor purchased a VLP as a key component, SAP purchased SuccessFactors, a recruiting system initially turned HCM, who had acquired Plateau, a strong but awful UI/UX LMS. SuccessFactors constantly stated they would invest heavily into Plateau and initially, vast improvement was to be found.

The user interface is slick – way better than the days of Plateau – which some people still call it – uh, its not. It is way better than anything Plateau ever did, but for the amount of money the system costs and the fact SAP now owns them, there is no reason that the UI should look like it does. Pricing is high.
