And most leaps don't come from within large, established players. If anything, I would expect right now that the biggest shift will be towards more free, open-source solutions that provide roughly the same functionality that are in the commercial tools today. Does anyone from Saba, SumTotal, Adobe/Macromedia/eHelp, Lectora, etc.

Normally, I wouldn’t provide a specific breakout, say Big Dog or Small Dog, but people ask me whom I like or dislike, etc. I like this system and its functionality in comparison to the other players in this space. Saba does a good job as well.

Two minuses for me though is lack of mobile apps (everyone does mobile responsive) and is miss on stronger analytical data and data visualization, which while the system does provide solid reporting and analytics, the way the world is heading in the corporate space, a system needs more to match it. Saba Cloud – Saba is such a wild card here. Saba was once a kingpin in the industry, then dropped down, now, I think they are on the upswing again, so it is a system to keep on an eye on. SAP Litmos – Last year’s top system for NexGen, still a very strong player, a leader in the space, but the others – those listed above, have more Tier-3 then Litmos. The biggest surprise to me is Saba. Again, this is in reference to the learning portion of Saba and not the entire platform of talent, etc.
