I watched this morning's PLE conference (#pleconf) unkeynote by Grainne Conole and Ricardo Torres Kompen, which was streamed live from Aveiro, in Portugal. Grainne and Ricardo had crowdsourced much of their presentation, through a series of video clips, blogs and tweets.

I did a dry run using the 'It's personal' slides, which I was to use later for the PLE/PLN online symposium. The 50 or so academic staff present seemed to enjoy my presentation and there ensued a lively discussion/ Q and A session. If it's as productive and enjoyable as Cork was, I will be very happy indeed.

Each of our panel of four presented our cases, some arguing for and some against the demise of the VLE. The entire event, some cynical commentators would suggest, was hyped more than any other ALT-C presentation. Graham Attwell will probably talk the most sense, providing a real alternative - the PLE. And I am van Helsing.
