I was trying to come up with a way to add a logo and few icons into PowerPoint. You may need to add your company logo to a new image or add an icon to a PowerPoint presentation. If you are using a screenshot or a PNG image, it will default to have a transparent background. Step 5: Save your image as a PNG.

Bonus tip: If you want to add pictures or videos over the laptop image, then it’s probably a good idea to just fill the inside with black and square off the corners since the videos won’t have rounded corners. Looking over the tutorial, I wondered if I could follow the steps to recreate the icon in PowerPoint. Obviously the steps are a bit different and since PowerPoint is not as robust as Illustrator, you have some limitations. Another benefit to this exercise is learning to use PowerPoint in new ways. PNG (Portable Network Graphics) – an alternative to GIF images and can support millions of colours as well as transparent backgrounds. These files can be edited in PowerPoint.
