I was on a train trip to Den Haag yesterday and remembered I had a few podcasts on my ipod I hadn’t got around to listening – one of them was an interview with Alisson Rosset, Prof of Ed Tech at San Diego State University : [link]. In it she discuses how learning has changed in the past 10 years. link]. love it ! Good stuff

He personally listens to up to 60 podcasts a week ! Awesome stuff – wouldn’t it be great if he could create at least 1 podcast a week to share what he is learning !! Harry Stout, our CEO, recently said that one of the most important things you can do for your career is spend at least an hour a day on personal development.

My plan is to hopefully secure a Sharepoint subweb and use podcasts and blogs as a means of interacting with our employees in AU. Things change quite quickly in my workplace – one of the things the L&D team are looking at is boosting our capabilities in the e-learning space. Fingers crossed – I’ll keep you updated.

Personal use: I use OdioGo (which is a TTS from RSS feeds to podcasts) to turn my blogposts into audio files, by linking them to iTunes, all my posts are easily downloaded as podcasts. In the Big Question launched by Tony Karrer this month , he wonders how we use Text-to-Speech (TTS) in our courses? It is the same with gps-voices.

There are three stages to creating and delivering a podcast: planning, production and delivery. Planning your podcast - majors on script writing. Choosing your podcast format. Dialogues take less editing than most other types of podcast. wouldn't expect any 30 minute podcast to be more than about 10Mb. Planning.

Last week I decided to start using a podcast approach as part of my regular Moodle material. decided against the usually highly mobile podcast approach, as I know very few of the students actually own one. have incorporated these as part of my level 4 groups work in Object Oriented Design.
