People who ‘hate PowerPoint’ should instead hate the people who put it to bad use in over-long, tedious presentations. Provided it functionally does what it’s supposed to, whether or not it is effective depends on how it is used and for what purpose.

No one could deny it would be a lot more fun and arguably more memorable than working through a bunch of Powerpoint slides. It also enables a facilitator, trainer or expert to be present. It’s true that gaming-type technologies are still rarely used in learning, but perhaps it’s only a matter of time before this is commonplace.
