It’s complex

Pressed again, I expanded yet more. In a recent conversation, I was talking about good design. Someone asked a question, and I elaborated that there was more to consider. I realized that when talking good learning design, it’s complex. However, knowing how it’s complex is a first step. Also, there are good guidelines.

Back in the mid-90s, I was part of a government-sponsored initiative in online learning, and we were looking for a meaningful project. They could’ve come out with a book, but they wanted to do something more interesting.

So LDA Press is kicking off. There’s a second initiative of LDA as well. Matt thinks LDA should publish, and had offered me the chance to serve as initial publisher (more like Editor-In-Chief). We’re going to have to start slow to grow, but stay tuned for initial publications.

Performance Support and Bad Design

After hitting cancel (which automatically tries to drain everything and reset to zero) by simultaneously pressing two buttons linked by a line on the control panel, I heard noises in the sink like it was draining. And a perfectly nice person listened, asked some questions, and then instructed me through a process.
