Problems with Accordion Interaction

I’m using Captivate 2019. I inserted an accordion widget, and it worked fine. Then I started making edits to colors, fonts, etc. The widget disappeared from the page. When I double clicked, it would still appear in the preview, just not on the page. I tried to start over by creating a new slide and reinserting the interaction, but I get a “Not a Valid Widget” error. I’ve been able to get around it by creating a new project, inserting the interaction, and then cutting and pasting into my existing project. But that’s a awkward solution. I’ve seen posts describing similar issues, but they’re mostly from older versions (5 & 6). Wondered if anyone else is having this problem with recent releases.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff

I did Refresh the widget after editing. Didn’t help. And I didn’t actually preview the slide, (apologies) I meant when I double click to edit the widget, the preview in the editing window appears fine.

I didn’t have a lot of time to spend on the issue, so I ended up reformatting the content in multiple slides & click boxes rather than in a widget. I would still like to find a solution, though, since I would like to make use of widgets in future projects.

I use the Learning Interactions a lot, but I’m aware of the fact that the full functionality is only shown sometimes after publishing and uploading to a webserver or a LMS (in case of a SCO).

Did you update the widget after editing? Look for the button ‘Refresh widget’ in the Properties panel.

Which Preview method did you use? If this is a non-responsive project, use only Preview HTML in Browser (F11) because the other Previews use temporary Flash output and are not to be trusted for HTML outputµ£.
