Videographer and Editor - Everything from taking and editing videos to editing videos others were nice enough to provide. eLearning Designers wear many hats – some by choice, some placed upon us. Here are the hats I wear because I need these skills as an eLearning one-person shop. Those on the second list are ones placed upon me either because they are skills I can adapt my elearning skills to or because assumptions are made (e.g., you are an IT guy, right?). Instructional Designer & Developer - These are the obvious ones and why most of us are hired. Did I miss anything?
Using Gagne's 9 Events of Learning in e-Learning

Provide learning guidance - This is an opportunity for the learner to apply the learned knowledge or skill, but with guidance. Unlike classroom training you cannot directly gauge the challenges the learner is having and any feedback provided is pre-scripted. This will still not provide immediate guidance, but is an alternative if the course's feedback is not enough. Thank you.

So, I hope these posts demonstrate how characters can be weaved into a learning design to engage course participants, personalize learning, add entertainment value, provide an avenue for the learner to interact more directly with the content, and lend greater depth and realism to courses. There is No "PowerPoint"

So, the moral of the story is let your SMEs know up front about the development tools you will use and what deliverables can and will be provided. So often I get a call from subject matter experts (SME) and other stakeholders regarding elearning courses asking, "Can''t you just send me the PowerPoint?" My answer of "There is no PowerPoint" is usually not received well and followed by a tone of disbelief. I don''t deny them a PowerPoint because they will probably compromise the instructional integrity of the courses, which is possible, or because I am selfish. Thanks. SME Tools

So what better way to provide a refresher than an Infographic that highlights and visualizes its important features? For a course I am currently completing, I included an infographic. The course is an overview of a new line of business at my org. knew that for many, especially those not directly involved in the new line, retaining detailed knowledge about it will be a challenge as time passes. hope to see these printed from the course and pinned on a few office walls and hopefully passed around a bit too. found creating the infographic was not as difficult as expected. infogr.am

Articulate - Presenter and Quizmaker are providing the assessment and an ease of packaging it as a SCORM compliant course. I am currently creating a course and as usual it involves numerous development tools. This course consists of using three main tools. Here they are and why I am using them. These are where Tweeps in a specific community, like learning and development or health care providers, etc. will applaud great service from stores and restaurants, but I also provide my criticisms when necessary. I having been using Twitter for several years now and still loving it. The only issue I have are the challenges of getting others to adopt it. For me, Twitter is a great tool in my personal life and also a fantastic workplace tool. have even sat with people assisting them with setting up an account and given one on one tutorials on using Twitter. discuss specific topics.
Voice Over in e-Learning, Sometimes

Provide a mute button for those that find the voice-over to be just a distraction (again, make text available). However, make sure both text and narration provide the same instruction, but not exact word for word. Either way, I find that a sign-off provides confidence for me and my team that the course meets the approval and needs of the stakeholder, the content is accurate, and that we have a commitment from the stakeholders/SMEs for future reviews. That the design and content for the course provides accurate information and complies with the organization's current policies and procedures.

Adobe Flash has continually been showing up in more and more places. Phones, TVs, Billboards (really just big monitors in airports and mega stores), now in your car.
