Referring back to the match example, why would we go through all the constructs of traditional teaching methods when the learning solution could be as simple as handing them a match, providing minimal instruction, and giving feedback? Once they submit their questions, the learner has completed the lesson – or in more ideal examples, is provided at least some remediation. Just a few things to keep your eyes on | ICS LEARNING GROUP MAY 1, 2012 Thoughts on the Creative Cloud This subscription-based ‘digital hub’ will provided the ability to download and install any application in Adobe’s CS6 “ Master Collection ” and use it offline…as long as you remain subscribed. Last week, Adobe announced their new approach to Creative Suite 6 software licensing, the Creative Cloud , which should be available in early June. The pricing does not seem unreasonable, but that may be a point of perspective and there are several options. Adobe’s Master Collection traditionally retails for about $2600. which is quite a deal for at least the first year. | | | | | | | | | -
ICS LEARNING GROUP | FRIDAY, JUNE 22, 2012 Dreamweaver, CourseBuilder and eLearning Templates The current iteration provides an interface to select an interaction and setup the parameters, including SCORM 1.2 Between these templates, providing some decent designs, and the included CourseBuilder interactions, one can certainly develop a pure HTML-based course for mobile/mLearning requirements. Unlike most other tools, DW does not provide any sort of ‘publish SCORM package’ option. One bonus of Adobe’s eLearning Suite (eLS) product is a few extra tools that are not normally included with the various products. and 2004 support. but then what? products MORE >> -

Camtasia is a solid tool for any eLearning developer to include in their software toolkit. ICS LEARNING GROUP | WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2011 Adobe Flash Player 11 and AIR 3 This latest version should make such development not only an improved experience, but perhaps will finally show Adobe is serious about mobile and maybe, just maybe, Apple will provide a full web experience by allowing the Flash Player itself on its iOS devices. Per the Flash Blog , the next major release of the Adobe Flash player (version 11, and AIR 3) is coming in early October. This is a significant evolution in the Flash platform - not only for the advantages it brings, but to show how Flash can stay useful and relevent in the current mobile culture. high CPU requirements). ICS LEARNING GROUP | FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2012 Install issues with eLearningSuite, Presenter 7, and Office 2010 During an upgrade of a few systems here at ICS, we encountered an issue with the installation of the Adobe Presenter product provided with the eLearning Suite software package. The system upgrades included Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. When installing the eLearning Suite (‘eLS’) package, we noticed that Adobe Presenter was missing from the list of applications despite it being a part of the suite. Our first thought was perhaps an error with the installer, but then reviewing previous eLS installations on our Windows XP machines, we noticed Presenter had indeed been installed. MORE >>
