While OK in HTML5, the SWF version of the matching quiz drop down is displayed extremely small. This might be an issue for everyone using this type of quiz, but I couldn’t find an a solution. Is there a possibility to change the size?

I am a bit amazed that you are still talking about SWF output, since the EOL of Flash player for all browsers is announced and will be there much quicker than you think.
You don’t mention which exact version you are using? It is very clear to me that the developers now focus only on HTML output which has improved a lot in most recent versions.
Did you test after publishing? Try to avoid long items in matching questions, that has always been a problem in SWF output.
