Callidus Software acquired Rapid Intake, a great content authoring solution. Rapid Intake will stay as is – name, feature wise, etc. GeoLearning’s Maestro product is now called SumTotal Maestro. These guys are always leaders in the authoring tool space, and their mLearning studio rocks – IMO.

Rapid Intake is still in beta testing for the app, but as of right now, the total number of vendors is Zero. But wait, it is only tells me about the latest news from them, which is great to know, since when I think LMSs – I think news! Yep, an app. Yes, they have an app. Blackboard Learn? Yes, an app. That’s it.

Q: Saba, SumTotal, Cornerstone, Taleo, SuccessFactors must be the best because a lot of people buy these systems. Q: I use Articulate, Rapid Intake and other 3rd party authoring tools, will they work in any LMS? I wouldn’t recommend this system to anyone, okay maybe my worst enemy or someone who deserves no mercy.

Latest E-Learning Trends – Some good, some bad

I love this trend, because it clearly says that the rapid content authoring tool vendors are becoming innovative and are seeing the market. Rapid Intake mLearning Studio is near launch. I am still hearing of problems with Captivate 5 and SumTotal. Hopefully, SumTotal will release an update to solve this.
