Here I typically use DuckDuckGo as my search engine, and often end up at Wikipedia. With much experience, I trust it. Then I review them until I’m happy. The second part is the feeds.

You could choose many characteristics, e.g. from the SCANS competencies (using information technology, reasoning), that the task entails. Then you give them an assignment, and it might have a number of characteristics: it might be social, e.g. working with others, or problem solving.
